My wife needs to obtain P21s for the last 3 years for some official work.
We(my wife and I) are being jointly assessed since 2006.
When my wife requested for P21s she got P21s in my name with the salaries and employers of both of us mentioned in the P21. However the P21 does not state her name at all--only her employer name and salary is mentioned. When we checked with Revenue they said that they provide P21s only for the primary person being assessed (me in this instance).

Has anyone here faced this situation before. Would you know if there is any way of obtaining an equivalent of P21 with her name on it.

Both of us are PAYE employees.

The Revenue are right - they only issed P21s for the primary individual.

Will these not be accepted? She could supply these together with copies of her Tax Credit certificates perhaps.

Why not ask who ever needs this information what they will accept? Perhaps they will accept a letter from her employer confirming salary, which will then sho up the same on the P21.

You are the assessable spouse, hence the P21 issuing in your name. As Domo said, this is normal. The party looking for the P21's has probably encountered this before, it should not be a problem.

Appreciate the quick response guys. Few points:

1. Isn't it really strange though that the P21 does not mention her name or PPS no. though it does mention her employer's name and salary.

2. Does anyone know if Revenue had this particular policy all along or they changed it just recently.

3. The party that is requesting these documents is the Department of Justice, but given the lack of communication between various govt depts I just want to see if there is any way out of this.

She does have the P60s for all the years.
