Query on company laying-off just one person with only statutory payment.

Can my company after 10 years just tell me there is no job for me and they must lay me off, yet I am the only one in the company being let go? They are also only paying statutory redundancy. I would appreciate any advice.
 
How many people in the company?
Are you the only one carrying out your function?

As for statutory redundancy, that's what just about every company pays.
 
You would be very fortunate to get more than statutory redundancy these days. Also, statutory is all they are obliged to pay.
