Hi All,

I am approved for a mortgage with the 3 main lenders (AIB, BOI & EBS) and found a house I would like to buy. I would like to make an offer on this house. I am about to change jobs but will only have started in the new job by the time I get the house (if I do). The industry and company I am moving to is very good and secure but I will have a 6 month probationary period. This is a standard T&C. I am just wondering will I receive a mortgage.

Any help or advice appreciated.

Regards,

Mike

Have you gotten to the stage of final loan approval ? or just approval in principle ?

I got approval but that expires every 3 months and it will expire in the next month.

You should try to get the house sorted before changing jobs. Banks often want people to be in a secure job for over a year

Changes in circumstances, including imminent changes, must be notified to the potential lender and the insurance provider particularly if known in advance.

You cannot draw down a mortgage until your probationary period is over and you are fully permanent. The lender will have the right to check your employment status with your employer before they gave you a formal loan offer.
