Like so many posters I am saddened to learn of the death of Welfarite. May he rest in peace. No doubt my query has already been answered in some of his posts. At present i get the Contributory Old age pension and also a payment for my wife as a Qualified Adult. She will be 66 shortly. Am i correct in thinking that when she reaches 66 the Qualified Adult Allowance will cease and she will have to apply for the Non Contributory Pension of 219 euro subject to a means test

When your wife reaches age 66 she will automatically receive the increased rate of QA (206.30). However if she thinks she would be eligible for a full rate of Non-Con Pension she can apply. The rate is 219 and is subject to a means test

e Thanks Black Sheep. My wife applied for the non contributory pension and she has got a query back for details of my private pension. In completing the original application form should this income have been included? As far as i cnan recall when i originally applied for thOld Age Contributory Pension and Dependant Allowance i was not asked for details of my pension. On rereading details of the non contributory pension under heading cash income it would seem half of my pension should have been mentioned.

On reading another post you indicated that the qualified adult portion of the contributory pension is means tested on my wife only. Would this include half my pension? When i originally filleid up form for my contributory pension and the section re the dependant adult i dont think i was asked for details of my pension. I apologise if i appear to be "rambling" on a bit!
