In the market for a lawnmower, garden is about 40ft by 25ft, fairly flat, thinking petrol is a bit too big and powerful for my needs. Thinking of a Qualcast Elan 32 cylinder model

Any feedback, good and bad, about this model?

You mentioned it was a ''Cylinder'' model. If im correct a cylinder model has blades which rotate like a rolling barrel, or a wheel of a steam roller.
I have one of these but i never use it as they are a nightmare to clean as the grass gets entangled around the sides of the blades. I use my ''rotary''
model it's electric but it's so much faster and does the job. And doesn't get grass tangled in the blades.
Cylinder model are however, much more fancy and give the 'football pitch'
effect (lines of dark and light grass).

It's up to you but I would get a rotary bladed one.

On a plus though, the cylinder ones are probably safer as the blade faces away from the user. Sometimes with the rotary, sticks and stones fly out from under it, even after thoroughly searching and clearing the grass patch.
