PVC Door coating flaking off!

Hi,
I moved into a 3 or 4 year old house about 6 months ago. The house has PVC doors & windows in the beech colour. The beech coating on the front door was a bit chipped and dull when I moved in but the coating is now flaking off in big pieces. It looks awful because the plastic underneath is white.
Do I have any comeback with the builder or door supplier?

Or

Is it possible to get a paint or coating to sort this problem out?

Thanks,

Dino

Sounds like a cheap door!! You say that the house is 3-4 yrs old, is there anyway you can contact the previous owner to find out where they got the door and windows from? Most PVCu has a ten year guarantee - bit of digging around could save you some cash! If not replacement is probably your best option - paint doesn't take too well on PVCu, (although I'm always open to correction!)

Didn't realise bumping posts was outlawed.
It seems common on all other forums....
