Putting an offer in on 2 different houses.

Following on from my recent post, we have put an offer in on 2 different houses. Firstly is this ok, not against the rules or anything. The first house needs a bit of work mainly cosmetic and was on the market for 215, our offer was 185 which has not been accepted and the EA has rang us everyday since seeing will we push it up. In my naieviety i was seriously thinking of doing this but thankfully my husband has more sense. The second is the same house, but needs lot more work, asking price 195, our offer 170. I do not feel the same way about this house at all, but if we got it for that price maybe i could. Anyway what happens if the 170 is accepted, do we have to go ahead with it now we have put an offer in? My mind is still on the first one.

An offer is not legally binding. So you don't have to go ahead even if the offer is accepted.

Perhaps you should stick to your guns and go for the one you feel you want.
If not it sounds as though you will always have an irrational regret.
You won't see a sum €15K go in doing up a house even now.
