hiya we have a piano at home and my father informs me its about 35-45 years old.
The writing on it is BERRY London. There is a stamp embedded in the inside of it - S/10079

Can anyone shed any light on it for me? I'd love to know exactly how old it is and if it was worth anything. its in good condition. i've minded it since it was given to me

thanks

If you can get hold of a copy of Pierce's Piano Atlas (you could enquire at your local library but don't hold your breath), you might find your piano listed. But really the age is less important than its condition. If you want to sell it, have a look on websites like Buy&Sell and Donedeal.ie to see what similar pianos are going for. They don't sell as well as they used to - probably because keyboards are cheaper and more popular, portable and versatile. Not the same, of course.

At antique auctions I've heard the auctioneer say that the best time to sell a piano is September when kids are starting back with music lessons.

it's worth giving a local antique dealer a call. or try a spacialist piano company. They'd surely be able to give you an idea of its value.
