This has become very popular in the US (and sounds incredibly irritating). It is just like a walkie-talkie, push the button, talk and it gets broadcast to the other individual (or even groups of people).

It's unlikely that this is going to come into operation on any of the networks in Ireland in the near future. The problems the networks have here is how to actually charge for the service (both in capturing network traffic, and deciding pricing).
