Purchasing a fishing boat

I want to purchase a lake boat for trout fishing but am unable to handle anything heavy as I injured my shoulders and the traditional 18/19ft boats such as the Burke or Sheelin are just too big. Can anyone suggest a lighter alternative that will still drift well for fishing on inland lakes.

If you want to fish safely and do a drift for MayFly fishing you need a boat with some weight to ensure your safety. IMO the best boats for lake fishing are Philbin boats -- klinker built and made of timber. Organise your fishing with others or A.N.Other, who may be able to assist you with the pulling and dragging
