Pump to boost water pressure

Hi all,

I have a mixer tap designed for a min 1 bar system on my gravity fed bath. Obviously there's not enough pressure and the water just dribbles out so would take hours to fill the bath.

Can I get an inline pump fitted to the system to kick in when the tap is open which will boost the pressure to 1/1.5 bar ?

What kind of pump works in these situations and are they expensive ?

Would I need a dual-feed (hot & cold) pump?

Would I put it in the hot press where all plumbing seems to converge anyway?

Is it a DIY job or should I get a pro in ?

Thanks
PK.

http://www.heatweb.com/ and look for the Home Booster.

A single impeller shower pump would do the same job but are anything from €250 up.

The home booster would be a diy job but a shower pump may/will require some changes to your hot tank arrangement to stop air entering the pump which can be tricky.

Thanks David but aren't they just single feed pumps ?
I think I would need one for both hot and cold ??

The shower pump that david mentioned is the job. You can get them up to 3 bar in B&Q from €210 upwards

I know of few people who have got pumps installed....most of the time it is turned off because it is too noisy.. Though, i think their pumps are for the whole house so everybody is waken up if one flushed the toilet at nigh. It may not be an issue for you if you only plump the bath.
