Puchase online from UK

Hi,

On the 23rd of January this year I purchased a number of chairs, a table and a bedside table from a UK company called Sweetpea and Willow. We were told after we placed the order that it would be 10 to 12 weeks before all the items would be delivered. We were ok with this and waited. After the 12 weeks we had heard nothing and contacted the company. They told us that the tables and only two chairs were available and it would be another 10 to 12 weeks before the remaining chairs were delivered. We were assured this was an exception and that we would have our chairs after that time. Based on the assurance we asked for what they had already to be delivered and received that.

Well, no surprise, after the second 12 weeks past we had yet again not heard from the so called After Sales branch of this company and yet again had to get in touch with them. Despite talking to a person there they had no idea of the status of the delivery and offered to call me back. The next day I heard nothing and emailed them. After another day I called again and was told that they were still following up and would let me know. Yet again, no word from them and it was left for me to chase. It dragged out for a few weeks and eventually I was told all my chairs were in and would be delivered the following week.

The next week the delivery driver arrived and informed me he only had two more chairs and that "someone" forgot to put the other 4 chairs that were outstanding on the truck. He informed me that they would deliver the remaining 4 chairs today. As of yet this has not come and there is some confusion over when exactly its meant to be here.

Despite our complaining and chasing the company has continued to ignore us and only respond with a simple "Sorry" whenever we complain.

This treatment is ridiculous and I am wondering if anyone knows of any rights I may have as a consumer -- am I entitled to some money back, a voucher, anything?

Just as a note, if anyone out there is thinking of getting anything from Sweetpea and Willow, then dont. Save yourself the hassle and your money.

Thanks for your help,

Toddyl

Just as an addition to this I have added an email I wrote to them yesterday.
At this point I still have not received a reply from them:

Having received your first email yesterday, and not getting a response for my request for confirmation, I had to cancel several meetings and arrange to work from home for the rest of the day. As you can imagine I was less than happy to see this email arrive into my inbox after I had gotten home. However, to add to my frustration, I received a text message to my mobile phone this morning saying that my delivery is now due on Friday between 11am and 12.
Can you please confirm when this delivery is due -- is it Thursday or Friday?
Also, can you please confirm that the remaining 4 chairs will be delivered.
Further to this I would like to say that my wife, Miriam, and I are extremely disappointed by how we have been treated by your company. We purchased the chairs on January 23rd of this year and were initially told it would be 10 to 12 weeks for delivery. It is now a staggering 31 weeks since we first ordered the chairs and we still are awaiting them. How can it possibly take this time for chairs to be made -- are they been carved out of solid rock with a blunt spoon?? To add to that your so called "After Sales Service" is virtually non existent. It has been left up to Miriam and I to contact your company to find out what the status of our order is. On all occasions we have been informed of delays -- had you planned of telling us about these delays or did you just hope that we would not notice?? Even after my wife complained by emailing your website there was no acknowledgement of the issues she raised nor did you put the complaint on your website or anywhere for other unsuspecting members of the public to see. Finally you would think that after all this trouble you would ensure that the delivery last week would have confirmed that all our chairs were on the truck before it departed but yet again the process broke down and our order was not fulfilled. Again, after we complained all we got was a mere "sorry". Surely that is not good enough at this stage.
I would expect at the very least that a member of your management team could at least phone me to explain how all this could happen.
In the meantime I will be looking into my consumer rights to see what entitlements there are for such ridiculous delays.

Is this the crowd? -

That's pretty shabby treatment they seem to be doling out. I notice their banner mentions "London Ireland". I wonder should this be "London and Ireland"?

Have just received delivery from these guys, after a 5 week wait - was told it would be 6. Good communication all the way, email and phone calls. Got a couch, chest of drawers and a bookcase.

Sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with them, but can't say we did at all - would definitely recommend them. Furniture is very well made and was a fairly decent price. I've absolutely nothing to do with the company, just found them online. Glad I took the chance with them but would hope the above poor treatment other had isn't a regular thing for customers.
