Pubs in Cork city

I am thinking of going to Cork city for my stag do during a weekend in late Feb / Mar 2008.

I want to visit genuine, old-style pubs, which have character.

I do not like modern "drinking barns" like Cafe en Seine, Dakota, etc. in Dublin. I do like places like Grogan's lounge in Dublin.

I plan to assemble a list of quality, interesting Cork pubs.

So far on my list are:

The Long Valley, Winthrop street
The Hi-B, Oliver Plunkett street
The Castle Inn

I am interested in the older pubs along Barrack street, as well.

Any other suggestions?

Tom Barry's is a great pub on Barrack Street. It has a fire burning inside all year round & it also has an outdoor smoking area with a fire place. The atmosphere is really good but don't know how they will be with a stag turning up.

There are a couple of nice old pubs on MacCurtain St as far as I can remember.
