Folks,
I was out last weekend in Kilkenny for the comedy festival with a large group of friends in a new pub in the town enjoying a couple of drinks, when one of the persons in the group was promptly removed from the pub for no reason. He had been standing, talking to another female friend, when he was man handled by two gorilla's and promptly told he was been ejected. When we enquired as to the reason, they wouldn't give us an answer, just he had to go. I was stitting behind him and didn't see him do anything wrong. In case somebody thinks we were drunk, we had entered the pub at 9pm and this was just after 10pm. The female, whom my friend was talking too, is a Garda and asked to speak the manager but this request was refused and when she mentioned that she wanted their names, they just shut the door. We just left it that night, as we didn't want to spoil the fun & continued on to have a great night in another pub. The garda is quetion is going to raise this with the sup in Kilkenny as these guys wouldn't give her their names or show her their ID cards. I thought this was a requirement of the The Private Security Services ACT 2004. Any info around this would be most helpful.

Dont know if door staff are still on a kind of probation period but you can contact the PSA here [broken link removed]
