I received some investment advice to put my money in Irish Life
Consensus Cautious & Consensus funds [from an IL advisor of course].
Is now the the time to be investing in stocks and funds when the markets are so volatile ?
There seems to be 2 schools of thought -
1) things can only get better
2) anything can happen - way too risky..
You capital is at risk in both of the consensus funds...If however,you buy into PTSB tracker bonds your capital is guaranteed - but your return could be nothing - if the index dips over the lifetime...and your capital is tied up for 5 years...
Is there a thread with advice on these matters ? Or is there anyone with enough of an understanding of these issues that can help with some useful advice or point me in the right direction?
Of course - An Post offer a nice rate of return for a 5 year investment - but again Capital is tied up for the duration...
