I have a two bed apartment which was let two years ago to two friends who both signed the lease and their tenancy was registered with the PTRB. Their lease was renewed after one year.
Six months ago one of the girls moved out and the first girl stayed on and paid the rent by herself. She would now like to get somebody in to take the second room. I have no objection to this.
I just would like to clarify where I stand with the PTRB on this. Do I need to re-register the tenancy and pay the €70 again or is it taken that the original tenant is now sub-letting to the new tenant? I can see from the PTRB info that the length of the tenancy is counted from when the original tenant moved in. But I'm not clear on what to do in this situation.
Any advise would be welcome.
