PRTB Registration and family member in residence

I have a family member resident in my rental property on which I have no lease agreement and in which there are 2 tennants- I know the tennants well and don't need a lease agreement.
This situation is excluded from registration with the PTRB as outlined on their website. The problem I have is that revenue will not allow the loan interest on the property against rental income without confirmation from the PTRB that registration is not required. The PRTB state that they will not confirm exclusion from registration for individuals. I have written to them but am awaiting a reply. Has anyone come across this and any advice on how to get around it other than PTRB registration from which I should be exempt?
see http://www.prtb.ie/pubregfaq.htm and

for exemptions to registration

Re: PTRB PTRB Registration and family member in residence

Have the Revenue actually written to you stating that? I would have thought that the RFevenue should ask you to sign a declaration stating the reason why you are exempt from registration.

By the way, are both tenants qualifying family members? If not does that mean that one of them has no rights under the RTA? That scenario seems unfair on the non-family member.

Re: PRRB Registration and family member in residence

1 family member, 2 tenants, no lease, verbal agreement with friends.
Revenue have stated that interest relief not allowed as not registered. If not required to register give them a letter of confirmation from the PRTB.

I suggest you get a letter from the Revenue stating their requirements and that you send that letter to the PRTB. When you get a reply in writing from the PRTB you send that to the Revenue.
