Hi,
If paid monthly and you are giving up your job right, what PRSI exemption do you get in that pay period. i.e. say if you left on August 12 so you had worked 2 weeks of August but you are paid monthly....Or do most employers pay you when you finish?
 
If you leave on the 12th, you will more than likely get your pay on 12th along with P45.

In this case you will have 2 weeks PRSI exemption or €254 (127 * 2), if that;s what you are talking about.

yea thats what I meant...based on the slightly different monthyl and weekly PRSI amounts.

Last question. because you only work 2 weeks in the month, the amount earned is less than the standard rate cut off. Now, the pay slip also has year to date amouonts. So, for the 2 weeks of August, do you just use the amount of standard rate cut -off required to cover your low pay amount and allow the unused portion to be used in any future employement in the year
OR
do you apply the entire month worth of standard rate cut off, and retro apply the part you don't need for this month to previous months to give a negative amount of tax for the month and hence money back??

Another way I guess of saying this.....does the cummulative override the monthly total, or is it vice versa?
