prsi refund

i am sure this has been as been asked before but cant find anything,

i was on maternity leave last year and my employer paid my salary and they received my social welfare cheques. I decided not return to work after my maternity leave. I have already claimed back my tax but i was recently told that i should have claimed back for my PRSI.

Is this correct can i also make a claim for PRSI.
