Help!!!!!

You do not at present have to pay other Irish income tax on the interest, but you may be subject to PRSI/Health levy.
slightly off track - I've just noticed this on the AIB regular saver account information page. Does this regulation apply to interest obtained on all savings accounts in all institutions and when does one declare the interest for tax/PRSI purposes?.

Thanks.

Re: Best Buys-Regular Savings Rates

I noticed this too. It's an odd one. It suggests PRSI may be due on deposit interest income. It certainly wasn't due in the past. If it is due now, it's not specific to these new AIB accounts. Possibly the BIK changes a few years ago have confused things. As long as DIRT is deducted, I don't intend to worry about it, since the amount of PRSI/health levy involved (if any)
would be quite small.

True Mugsgame,

The interest would be quite small. Wonder though what the situation would/will be with the S.S.I.A interest. Does it follow that P.R.S.I/Health Levy would also be due on that:( . Would be a nice tidy little sum for Revenue if all S.S.I.As are affected.
