Does this automatically run out after 12 months. Have been on this since November and wondering what happens then?

Jobseeker's Benefit is paid for a max of 12 months, after which time you may qualify for Jobseeker's Allowance, a means-tested payment.

What do they check with means test - I own my own house (no mortgage) have a credit union loan of €20 - no savings, no income, no other loan - would I qualify do you think?

Based on what you say, and if you are living alone, you wil;l have no measn and qualify for full JA. They will inform you coming up to the time of JB entitlement exhaustion.

Thanks welfarite - I just got an application form in the post for JA. Am married and DH is working (public sector) so don't know - would that make a difference. Have 2 children. Sorry for all the questions but that €200 meant alot each week.

How much is the JA?
