I am an owner director of a small company and due to receive annual director fees of 6,500. This is the only income I will get from that company for the current tax year.
My main employment is as a PRSI Class A1 employee in another company and this is where all my tax credits etc. are received.
What would be the levies I should pay on these fees ?
Any advice appreciated.

Hi if you other employment takes all your tax credits and cut off point then you would have zero tax credits and zero cut off point and based on this you would have a gross pay of €6500.00 tax deducted €2665.00 prsi €195.00 levies €0.00 net pay €3,640.00 now you be required to file a tax return with the revenue by the 31/10/09 for the 2009 tax year and the revenue will adjust it to take into account the income levie adjustment for your directors fees as its not currently in legislation how to apply it as per a revenue call in relation to a client of ours in the same particulars as yourself

Hi Ants09 and thanks for your reply. I would normally file my annual return of income in January for the preceding tax year i.e. my return of income for 31/12/2009 would be filed by me in January 2010 - are you saying that a separate return is required to be filed before then? Would my PRSI class still be S1 or because of the amount of income, does it move to SO ? No Health Contribution yo pay ?

Hi Techless you can file your income tax return for the tax year 2009 anytime between jan 2010 and oct 2010, so you just have to file one return and thats it.
Your Prsi class be SO as your directors fees be €6500 so you will not have to pay the health levies
