Hi guys

I was hoping somebody might be able to help me. I am looking to have my teeth cleaned. I had this done once before back in January 2006 under the PRSI Dental Benefit. I contacted a different dentist this time around because last time I had it done in Limerick while I was home for the weekend. When I contacted the dentist the receptionist told me the cleaning would be covered but I would also have to pay a fee "to see the dentist". Last time I didn't have to pay anything and I thought under the terms of the benefit you are entitled to one visit and two cleanings per annum. As it has been 2 and a half years surely I shouldn't have to pay for the visit.

Please advise me if the dentist is correct.

Thanks

There may be a charge as this will be your first visit to the practice and a full charting / plus admin will be necessary?

Thanks for this. However, when I went for the last cleaning it was also a first visit to the practice. Maybe I should just try have it done next time I'm home.

A lot of private dental practices vary in their procedures with new patients.
Some may charge a new patient for their first visit, others may waiver this. I think it depends on each practice. Why not ring and ask then to clarify the charge for you (e.g is it 1st visit charge?)

Will do. Thanks again.
