Appreciate any advice on this...

I was self-employed for the first half of 2007, and employed under PAYE system for second half.

My Class S earnings were €49k, and my Class A earnings were €34k. Given the 4% Class A PRSI is not payable on "earnings" after €48,800, and given my "earnings" for the year already exceeded €48,800, do I have any PRSI liability on my Class A earnings? Or am I being too hopeful??

If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes it appears to me you would have PRSI liability on your PAYE earnings and don't forget the health contribution @ 2%

For the purposes of A-class 'earnings' should be defined as income for an insurable employment. (i.e. self employed income is subject to PRSI in a different manner than employment income.)

I'm afraid it's too good to be true!
