Quick question, is PRSI calculated on your gross wage or is it after you have deducted your PAYE?

Yes. Both PAYE and PRSI are calculated on Gross before either are taken into account. ( so yes, you do effectively pay PRSI on tax )

Yes, pensions are done through employer on "net pay" arrangement. Your gross for tax/prsi is therefore neet of the pension contribution.
