Hi,

I just heard that along with the races at Lepordstown tonight the Residence Association is planning a protest at the M50 interchange and blocking traffic.

Is this true??

Why would they do this and what support do they reckon they will get from the public by making the daily commute home worse!!

Apparently it was this apartment block they were protesting about.

However, what I don't understand is why, a couple of weeks ago, there was another protest up there by Dun Laoghaire residents about the proposed developments down there.

Why protest up in the mountains about something happening down by the sea??

The protest outside Bewleys was there because the council were meeting in Bewleys to discuss turning the old public baths in apartments.

At least they didn't block traffic.

At what point in the planning of a protest does the idea of really annoying the public be a good strategy to get their support??

Would we be discussing them here on AAM if they hadn't annoyed the public?
