Property Registration Authority: How long does it take to transfer property?

Hi folks,

At the moment my mother has an application with the PRA to get a farm into her name.

We have been told by our solicitor that the application is strong and that there should be no problems with it.
The application was made approx 15 months ago but we have heard nothing back during this time.

How long does this process usually take? When the farm is transferred into her name we had planned then, in turn, to transfer 1 acre into my name for the purpose of applying for planning for a house for myself.

I assume that i cant move on my planning application until the piece of land is in my name.....sorry the tread is a bit long winded.

What is the application?

If its a transfer and depending on the county, it should not take too long. If, however, it is a possession case, it can take some years.

Talk to the solicitor and get a time frame. I assume you can apply for planning during the process.
