promoting new product through clubs

I am looking into selling/promoting a new telco product from a well known International company.

The product is free to the customer subject to a signed contract, and offer savings of between 10 and 15% on monthly bills, genuinely no catches, no pitfalls that I can see.

I was discussing with a friend, methods of sales, like Door to Door, Tele sales cold calling, Shopping centre Promotions.

One I liked, was to approach sports clubs etc, and offer to make a financial contribution to the club for every customer signed up.

Example 200 people sign up I would make a contribution of €1,000 to the club.

Interested in your thoughts on the idea.
