professional to assess/remove mould

Hi
Can anyone recommend a company / cost to assess and remove mould? Live in an old house - ventilation in hall is poor and musty odour has built up over a number of months and gets worse depending on weather - convinced its mould as plumbing has been checked, but have no real visible signs - assume its behind walls - have an 8 month old child and my wife v upset and urgently need the name of a company that can assess/confirm mould is source of odour and put in place plan to remove....

with what you've offered i can only ask questions but might i suggest you read around this forum and boards.ie and you'll get some valuable tips/clues as to the causes of mould. most houses i visit often have clear problems that the clients are not willing to fix/ spend the money on and what they really want is a half ass'ed solution which rarely exists.. so:
1. where in the country are you?
>start by opening the windows doors every day,
>minimise any internal moiture creation.
2 have you fans in bathroom/ kitchen when showering/ cooking?
>dont dry clothes in doors,
>don't use gas heater as it generates moisture
>buy a relative humidity(RH) sensor - less than 30€ on line so you'll know when there is a problem with the internal RH
>buy a damp meter and a check your house for potential sources maybe 20€ on line
3. tell us more about your house?
4. how old is it?
5. what is the construction: walls, floors, roof made of/build-up?
6. do you have permanent vents in all the rooms?
7. is the external ground level lower than the internal?
8. is there suspended timber floors? are the vents underneath blocked?
9. is there a concrete floor? is there a Damp proof course?
10. where is the mould? what areas? orientation? height? type?
11. is there dry-lining?
12.if you touch the walls do they feel damp?

if it gets worse depending on the weather then you may have leak/ damp problem but the above will tell us more.

have you checked the

19 chimney
20 do your neighbours have similar problems?
