Professional planning advice

Could anyone recommend an expert on planning regulations?
I have a pretty ambiguous situation I need to understand. Sorry to be vague, but I just need a name.
 
Thanks binman. Any idea if these guys will handle a small residential issue or are they all after large scale legal wrangles? I'll try calling a few of them later but from their websites it looks like they want big money jobs only.
 
I am a qualified planner working for one of the companies on the Irish planning institute (for obvious reason I won't say who). As an architect......If it is a project that you think is going to lead to a planning application a qualified architect has a good working knowledge of the planning guidelines and experience with the local authorities. http://www.riai.ie/

Also, depending on the query a simple phone call to the planning department of the local authority in question can solve the problem.....sometimes it can take more than one telephone call to get to the right person to answer your question or to return your call. Persistance
