Product advice - index tracking

I want to invest in a product that tracks indices, I also want to be able to convert back into cash when necessary. I think I need either exchange traded funds or unit tracker funds. Can anybody point me in the right direction?
 
For tracker funds, you should look at Quinn Life [broken link removed] and Eagle Star http://www.eaglestarlife.ie/. For ETFs, you can get a list of those traded on the London Stock Exchange (i.e. can be held in a Crest a/c) at:
