Problems replacing Headlight Bulbs

I am not surprised that there are so many cars running around with one headlight out. I see comments on motor forums etc. how difficult is to replace some bulbs. One car even has to have the front bumper taken off to get at the headlight bulb. It looks like the new generation of designers have never messed around with cars in their spare time.

Never mind that, it's the amount of cars with indicators that don't work gets to me ;)

What is it with Nissan Micra's and the foglights on?
Sometimes the main lights on dim also

Yeah it's a generalization but they say every stereotype has a grain of truth ;)

There are lot of Micras drivers who don't know how to work their lights

Sure they're probably all women drivers ;)

I make a habit of knocking on the windows of cars at T juntions to tell them that their indicators don't appear to be working. It's so annoying when you are coming up behind a car on your bicycle and they can't be bothered to indicate.

I must start knocking on cyclists when they don't bother to signal.

It's unusual for a motorist to end up dead because a cyclist didn't indicate.
Some motorists seem to think they can cut across cyclists and cycle lanes because cyclists "don't matter". The rules of the road and basic manners would indicate otherwise.

Just a tip if you are replacing headlight(s) - not an easy job, but with some know-how and help from Youtube it can be done in a few minutes on most cars. Be aware, though, that if your hand/fingers touch the work area of a halogen bulb it will shorten the bulb's life to about 6 weeks as the natural oil causes the lamp to "blow."

Another Tip:- You are purchasing new headlight bulbs from a store that charges you for fitting the bulbs. Ensure the bulbs are taken from a sealed container and not handled improperly by the fitter.

I'm sure it's not exactly a pleasant experience to knock down a cyclist who hasn't bothered to obey the rules either. Rules are rules.
