Hi,
Because of your credit history past, most companies will not give you a remortgage for a period of at least 18 months of the register of bad debit. However it will stay on your credit record for 5 years. There are currently two mortgage companies in Ireland offering mortgages to people with a poor credit rating. However these companies charge a higher interest than others. My advice to my clients is, if they want to remortgage with there poor credit rating then we will do it at the higher interest and then in a couple of years when your credit history is good again, remortgage again back onto a 'normal mortgage' at low cost legal fees. Whlie your bank is not doing you any favours it is standard practice in all banks and i don't think any of the others will be any greater help!(But maybe i could be wrong!!!)
It helps but it is pretty depressing to think I am going to be on a record for 5 years. I guess I need to find out who the companies you speak about are and discuss the situation with them.
I feel very upset and guilty that I have put my wife in this situation.
No need to feel upset while you have wronged in past you now accept the problem and move on. It is nothing that can't be fixed. If you want to find out more about these companies e-mail me and i will give you all the info you need!
