Problem with DIRT (retention tax) credit on ROS F11

Is anyone having a problem with this? Last year retention tax credit was separated from the usual personal tax credits and a refund resulted.

Today I filed the F11 return on ROS for my mother as usual, and noticed that the DIRT retention credit was included with the personal tax credits. The surprising thing was that the total credits were restricted to the amount of tax payable (small enough due to health expenses). This means that the DIRT deducted will not be refunded! The only refund available is for small DWT.

I had to submit the form tonight as I will be away until after the extended filing date. I will contact Revenue on my return, but is this a glitch in the system does anyone know? Surely if Mum has no tax liability, then DIRT deducted at source should be refunded?

TKS.

There are already posts about this 'DIRT' bug in ROS/Revenue's computer system. The solution is to get on to Revenue and complain to them!
