problem with bmw fumes

ive owned a bmw 320 d for 2 years, its done about 124.000 miles its on y plate 2001.there is a problem with the exhaust system u cant drive with the windows down because of the smell of fumes. ive had the car checked out by bm and they cant find a problem. there is no oil leeks and its been service regaly. ive had a new complete exhaust inclueding cat. u can also smell the fumes in the boot.please any advise would be a great help.

it could be a number of things however there are a number of rubber gronets underneath your car in the spare wheel well and behind the rear bumper if these are not all properly sealed it can create fumes in your car. specially the ones to the rear as there is alot of vacum created at this point

thanks for replying. the exhaust was from kwikfit it was fitted about a year ago. a friend who has looked at the car seems to think its the wrong exhaust for the car.it should have two tail pipes. i went back to kwikfit and the manager checked it he said that the car didnt smell like a diesel and there is nothing wrong with the exhaust. but he going to change the exhaust again with the same one. you cant smell anything untill you put the windows down or stand outside.
