Problem engaging starter in Ford Focus

Having problems with 2 year Ford Focus. 40,000 kms. with keyless entry. Difficulty in turning fob when trying to engage starter. Can be some time juggling with fob before engaging. Seems to be sticking. Ford garage give estimate of E250 to fit new parts, seems quite high. Anyone with same problem?

Most fords have a 2 year warranty on them. I would imagine something like that would be covered under the warranty. If they garage are giving no joy try ringing Ford they're based in Cork.

This is a common problem with the focus. It's amazing that Ford haven't issued a recall for it.

Google the issue, and at least you're armed with more information when you go back to the dealer. Maybe if they know that you are aware that it's a common problem, they may help out with the cost of repair.
