Prices for Oxegen and Electric Picnic

HAs anyonme noticed the jump in prices for electric picnic this year - to 199 euro, apparently becauce, as of from January 2007, outdoor events are subject to VAT where previously they had not been (at least thats what the EP website says)

However, oxegen tickets are still at 165 euro - the same prioce as last year if I remember correctly??? so how come thye have not added 30 euro for VAT?

IS this another massive ticket rip off?
 
Judging by the bad press Oxegen received this year, and the awful handling of this by the organisers, I'm not surprised they have effectively lowered the price of the tickets for next year.

No. If the prices are clearly advertised and they are too expensive for some people then they can easily choose not to buy. Those who are happy with them can pay. Those who are not happy but pay anyway and then moan about it only have themselves to blame. No rip off though.
 
Oxegen tickets are being priced at 2006 prices only until the end of the year. From Jan 1st they'll be more expensive. Have to say, regardless of how much EP is, I'd still pay it. Absolutely brilliant weekend
 
I'd be interested in finding out if "pay at the door" gigs in smaller venues will also be hit by this 21% vat, does anyone know ?
