Price of site strip and excavate foundations

I have been quoted €2,000 for the striping of the site and knocking of 130foot length ditch to the front of the site, and the excavation of foundations. Is this reasonable? 2800SQ ft house

Sounds about right,
I think we paid 1600 in 2004 - 2005. Now that was from the contractor who done all our house.

Make sure though he is removing and disposing of the excess soil (keep good topsoil)

Hi jolly man, I have just got some groundwork done as I am building an extension to my house. The guy charged me 35euro per hour for the jcb and 30euro an hour for the tractor and trailer to take away the soil.

HI-mac and man for two days €800 max
setting out foundations (needs two experienced heads) €500

I assume you are keeping the spoil on site.

The soil is remaining on site and i have an enginner to lay out the site, so it is just the machine and driver for no more than three days! @ €2,000 seems very rich to me. Im in Waterford
