On holidays in France a broke a front tooth (no pain as nerve was removed years ago). I got a temporary Crown put in and paid 60e. I asked the price for a permanent one and it was 470e. Over there it seems there are fixed prices - as I was actually shown the sheet in the local Health Board Office when I went to ask about any refunds and it confirmed the 2 prices.
Anyway what should I expect to pay here? I didn't go for it in France due to limited time.

No fixed prices here, best option may be to ring around some dentists for ballpark figures and then visit a couple for detailed examination and quote.
I paid €1200 this year in Galway, felt this was a bit steep BUT I am happy with the result!
Northern Ireland is an option if you live close to the border, I don't thik that the savings would compensate for having to make 3 or more long trips though.
Best of luck!

Hello i49oaks, I was quoted 1,100 euro per crown.I need more than one so i will be shopping around.Smiles seem be charging a lot less and than individual dentists.
