Yes, but for any period where you don't have an active monthly membership you will only be able to receive calls and texts and will not be able to make calls, send texts, use mobile data, or roam abroad.48 mobile allow a 6 month period without top ups.
Is that the same with Vodafone?Yes, but for any period where you don't have an active monthly membership you will only be able to receive calls and texts and will not be able to make calls, send texts, use mobile data, or roam abroad.
Just need to receive calls. Can call back on another number.Which is what the OP is looking for?!
They can also use WhatsApp when having wi-fi service.
Sorry, missed that.Which is what the OP is looking for?!
They can also use WhatsApp when having wi-fi service.
48 is unusual in that outgoing services only work if you have an active membership. Most or all other SIM only providers allow you to pay for services on demand from cash credit on your account. So I suspect, but don't know for sure, that Vodafone would be different to 48. It's a long time since I've been with Vodafone. I've been on 48 for years. Is that the same with Vodafone?
appears you can just top-up by €5 every 6 months to keep it going
Where are you seeing this?Think I'll go with Vodafone , appears you can just top-up by €5 every 6 months to keep it going.
Dumb or smart? What features do you need? If it's just for incoming calls/texts then you can probably buy something dead cheap in Oxfam or Adverts.ie or the like.Any recommendations on a really cheap phone to go with this?
