Hello,

I've been registered as a sole trader since february this year. My total income for this year should work out at about 20k. I hope to get an accountant for next year, but simply can't afford it at the moment as I'm trying to get off the ground. Could someone advise me how much preliminary tax I should pay for this year?

As this is your first year no obligation to pay anything.

100% of final liability for last year (should = nil as only set up this year)
90% of final liability for current tax year

Thanks very much for the advice. I've started to put money by each month for tax so should have enough by this time next year to cover everything.

Also I registered for ROS, so should I make a return of 0 euro or do i have to submit anything at all?
