i was wondering am i entitled to special payments to help with buying cott/ pram

if any other expectant mothers or fathers could give me some info id be great full xxx

There are no specific entitlements for purchase of baby items. You can make an application for an exceptional needs payment with your local SWA officer. The officer is usually based at the local HSE health centre or SW local office.

Just an FYI, there are loads of offers for second hand bits and bobs on Done Deal and Rollercoaster at the moment, it would be a good chance to get what you need at a cheaper price.

Freecycle might also be worth a look - I gave away some baby things like a moses basket there a few years ago.

Hi my friend got money from the SWA officer 6years ago to buy a pram and cot. She had to provide receipts from the shops she purchased the goods from back to the SWA. I Think she got €200. I have to agree with trying the second hand sites. As you can get great quality stuff for a lot less or try the free site like jumble town etc and you might get them for free. Hope that helps.. And good luck with the pregnancy
