Pre-Planning meeting with Council-anyone been to one

We have applied for a pre-planning meeting with our local county council (Limerick),should get notification next week of a date.
We are planning to buy a site a build about a 1 1/2 miles from our existing home,be built this 10 years ago.
We are doing so on medical grounds.
We me our local TD and he said to get as much medical evidence as we can to show why we need to move.
Has anyone been to one of these meeting,we understand that it will be difficult to get planning in the same area.

I attended one 2 years ago - the planner was able to zoom in on the location on the computer and see how many houses in the area already etc - In my case the planner said that I could have a house and should keep it reasonably high - when I lodged the application 2 months later a different planner was assigned and she advised me to resubmit plans for a bungalow!Inconsistency. Other than that we discussed the general design of the house that the planners wanted - windows, roof, stonework etc
