pre fabricated roof trusses

I know enough to almost NEVER get a truss roof in the first place !. Unless for a very small roof, I'd use purlins.
 
I'll have to chime in and disagree on that one, I'm afraid. I've new house with Attic trusses, spanning over 12m. Substantial doesn't even come close to describing them..........

My father used trusses in the '60's - I don't know why people still use cut roof's as they are a PITA, really.

Manufacturers I know of are McMahon's in Limerick, McDonagh's in Galway and Clonoe Timber Mouldings in Coalisland Co Tyrone (028 877 40513). I'm sure there are others.

Trusses are light, fast, accurate. I have an old book from the 60's on them, and the no of types available is incredible........
