Hi,

In the late 1980's I signed on for a few months when I couldn't find work. I haven't worked in Ireland since then but wondered if I would have been issued a PPSN for that time. Does anyone know if people were issued PPS numbers when they applied for Social Welfare? If so, can my local office find the number or do I have to reapply?

Thanks.

I would imagine that you should still have a number. you could ask in your local office, they may be able to looit up, or point you in the right direction.

Contact the Dept. of Family on 01-874 8444 (after 10 am) and ask for the "Client Identity Section". They'll be able to give you your PPS No.
