The PowerUp grant announced in the budget is live - however applications have quite a small window and emails can be missed.
If you have a retail/hospitality business or have a connection to one as accountant/advisor etc, it might be good to let them know. Its "free" money and will help with the increased costs this year.

Apply for the Power Up grant through the MyCoCo portal at mycoco.ie/powerup using your MyCoCo User ID and Password, beginning on October 24, 2024.
As part of Budget 2025, the Government has announced a new €4,000 grant called Power Up, to assist businesses in hospitality, retail and beauty sectors. To apply, ensure you have your MyCoCo user ID and password, which were set up when applying for the Increased Cost of Business Grant. If you have forgotten your password, use the ‘Forgot your Password’ link at the login screen. For any assistance with the grant application process, please contact your local authority.
As you have received the second payment of the Increased Cost of Business Scheme for retail and hospitality and beauty you are now eligible to apply for the Power Up grant by simply using the MyCoCo portal at mycoco.ie/powerup and follow the instructions.
The only additional information required is a self- declaration confirming that your business is trading and will continue to trade for at least three months following the date of your submission (including those seasonally closing businesses who intend to reopen in Spring 2025).
The following premise(s) on your Increased Cost of Business submission may qualify for the Power Up grant:
Kildare County Council will manage the rollout of the grant to eligible businesses. The Power Up grant is funded by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment (DETE).
The business details and bank information provided during your application for the Increased Cost of Business Grant will be used for the Power Up grant. If your bank details have changed, please notify your local authority.
As part of the self-declare process, you must confirm that:

What is the eligibility for the Grant?
The main eligibility criteria are the same as for the Increased Cost of Business Scheme:- Your business must be a commercially trading entity currently operating from a property that is commercial rateable.
- Your business must be trading at the time of submission and intend to continue trading for at least three months from the date of your submission (including those seasonally closing businesses who intend to reopen in Spring 2025).
- Your rates account must be up to date. Businesses on payment plans may be deemed compliant.
- Your business must be tax compliant and possess a valid Tax Registration Number.
