Power of executors

Just a quick query regarding the power of executors. My father passed away some time ago. My parents were divorced and his will appointed two executors namely a female friend and his brother. As his next of kin am I entitled to know how his entire estate was divided or merely about the portion to which I am directly bequeathed.

To the best of my knowledge you are entitled to know contents of your bequest only, the rest is to the executors discretion, however when probate is passed you can contact the probate office to view the contents of the entire will.

And what happens if the bequest isn't an item or a cash amount.. instead it's a portion of an asset like a house...

At what stage do the inhertitors find out how much the asset sold for?, and what about the executors expenses.. should these be notified to the inhertitors on a ongoing basis or is this info given at the end?
