When she sends ya photo on whatsapp take a screengrab of it and itll then be in your photos and youll be able to post to googlesOccasionally, I will post a review of a restaurant on Google Maps, where I usually research and get directions for restaurants. I'm lazy and my wife usually takes the photos of the food. Therefore, when I go to add photos to my review, it only allows me to post photos taken by my phone, not those she has sent me via WhatsApp.
Any suggestions as to a setting or something I could change to overcome this?
I'm not sure how to check that!Maybe the app (Google Maps? Browser? Etc...) only has permissions to access photos and not the wider filesystem on your phone? You should be able to check what permissions the relevant app has in the phone's system settings.
I don't know how to take a screen grab. That's not a screenshot, right? When she sends ya photo on whatsapp take a screengrab of it and itll then be in your photos and youll be able to post to googles
You could have Googled...I'm not sure how to check that!
Same thing.I don't know how to take a screen grab. That's not a screenshot, right?
Thank you. Actually, I had checked after your earlier response. However, I was searching for Google Maps whereas the app is listed as 'Maps'. In it, permission is given for 'camera, files and media'. No way to expand permission to WhatsApp Images etc.You could have Googled...
Android:
iPhone:
Control access to information in apps on iPhone
On iPhone, control access to information in Contacts, Photos, Calendar, and other apps.support.apple.com
Ok, doesn't change the ability to upload, unfortunately.Same thing.
Thanks but no luck! When you click add photos when leaving a review, it will open up the photos from your camera, then if you click the icon that says add photos again, it will open up all the images from your camera, whatsapp etc and if you click on albums up the top you can narrow your search down to whatsapp images.
Thanks but no, won't move into camera, saves as a screenshot but can't upload a screenshot to Google Maps reviews!!When you open a photo you’ve been sent on WhatsApp you can hard press it and choose the “save” option. On my phone at least, it then just goes into your photo album.
