Posting Cheque

I have a large cheque to post to Rabobank. Is registered post safe enough or is there another way of sending it securely

I assume it is a personal cheque you are sending to Rabo. ( I tnink they do not accept 3rd party cheques anyway, but I may be wrong on this)

I would cross a personal cheque 'A/c payee only' and send it ordinary post. It will be quiet safe/ I know Rabo has a Freepost address and I think you can not send a regd letter to such an address, in any case.

If cheque is payable to a limited company, then crossing has no practical effect - the cheque can only be negotiated by the named company.

Safest way of all is to transfer by credit transfer (online or over-the-counter of your bank), if you have the account number of the payee. In the future, this is likely to be the only way, as cheques will eventually be withdrawn for all practical purposes.
