Is it possible to get a loan of E14,000 for fees for postgraduate degree. My child has started this course because we were able to muster up funds to pay the first half but must repay this amount to the kind relative before christmas and then have to find the remaining half by end of january. We applied to BOI but were declined due to the guarantor's credit rating.
He has free accommodation and the family is contributing to his living expenses so his only financial requirement is the fee itself. While studying for his undergrad degree he worked in retail for 4 years and has bank records to prove this. He has qualified for the susi grant of E2k for this year's study. And, he doesnt have any debts.
Will all financial institutions require a Guarantor and if so does this person have to be a relative? We would find it difficult to ask this of any family member and would rather not if possible.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
